Children's Miracle Network Celebrates Springfield's 125th Birthday
Children's Miracle Network is an international non-profit organization that raises funds for more than 170 children's hospitals. Countless individuals, 90 organizations and 400 media partners unite with Children's Miracle Network hospitals to help sick and injured kids in local communities.
Alexa Sharps, Director of the Children's Miracle Network at Sacred Heart Medical Center, said "The Ems have made it possible for several 'miracle families' to come together and enjoy the nation's favorite pastime. Each of those families has experienced the fear and heartbreak of caring for a critically ill child at Sacred Heart Medical Center. Because of the tremendous support the Ems and others throughout our community, these families are able to take their children home from Sacred Heart happy and healthy."
The Emeralds enjoy showcasing nonprofit organizations and getting them community support. PK is a family friendly park and we wanted to highlight families and kids, and give them the experience of a real baseball game.
"We are so pleased and grateful that the 'Springfield' Emeralds have chosen to support healthcare for kids in our community by highlighting Children's Miracle Network at their game tonight. Thank you, Ems, City of Springfield and My Fox Eugene! Happy 125th Birthday Springfield and we are happy to be here to celebrate!" Sharps added.
