AquaSox Announce New Hitting Coach
Everett, WA - The AquaSox are excited to announce that Brian Hunter will make his debut as the hitting coach in 2015, replacing Mike Davis who is now coaching for the Clinton LumberKings. Hunter spent 10 years playing Major League Baseball and is best known for leading the major leagues in stolen bases in 1997, with 74 stolen bases while with the Detroit Tigers.
A native of Vancouver, Washington, he was drafted by the Houston Astros in 1989 and spent time with the Astros (1994-96), Detroit Tigers (1997-99) and Mariners (1999). In addition to his baseball career, he is the President and Co-Founder of Designated Hitter Foundation.
Hunter joins manager Rob Mummau and pitching coach Jason Blanton on the AquaSox coaching staff for 2015. Mummau is returning to the Frogs after one year with the Pulaski Mariners, and Blanton will be in Everett for the first time after coaching in Pulaski in 2014.
The AquaSox Home Opener is June 18 at 7:05pm versus the Eugene Emeralds.
