Two AquaSox Named to NWL All-Star Team

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett AquaSox are excited to announce that two 2019 AquaSox will be traveling to Boise, Idaho as members of the Northwest League All-Star Team on Tuesday, August 6 to play in the annual All-Star Game against the Pioneer League. Pitchers George Kirby and Damon Casetta-Stubbs will be representing the AquaSox on the NWL squad.

George Kirby, 21, is a right-handed pitcher from Rye, New York who pitched for Elon University and was named the Colonial Athletic Association Conference Pitcher of the Year his senior season. Kirby joined the Seattle Mariners Organization as a 1st draft pick in 2019, selected 20th overall. With the AquaSox, he has four starts with a 0.90 ERA, allowing only eight hits and one earned run.
Right-handed pitcher Damon Casetta-Stubbs, 20, is from Vancouver, Washington and joined the Seattle Mariners as an 11th round draft pick in 2018. He started his MiLB career with the AZL Mariners; in 2019, Casetta-Stubbs has played for the Modesto Nuts and West Virginia Power as well as the AquaSox. With the AquaSox, he has a 3-1 record and a 4.00 ERA in 10 starts and 45 innings pitched, giving up 32 hits and 20 earned runs.
The AquaSox return to Funko Field on Friday, August 2 at 7:05 p.m. for a three-game series against the Spokane Indians before the three-day All-Star break. After the break, the Frogs will return to action on Thursday, August 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia for a three-game series against the Vancouver Canadians.
