LANSING, Mich. – The TinCaps shut out the Lansing Lugnuts (A's affiliate), 5-0, on Wednesday night at Jackson Field, as third baseman Anthony Vilar recorded the first four-hit game of his Minor League Baseball career. This was Fort Wayne's fourth shutout win of the season, and first in exactly two months.

The 'Caps (4-7, 32-45) raced out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Center fielder Homer Bush Jr. (No. 8 Padres prospect) led off with a single. Later in the frame, his speed created chaos. With one out, Bush was at second base with first baseman Romeo Sanabria batting. As Sanabria took ball four, Bush stole third base. An errant throw to third enabled Bush to score, while an errant throw to the plate allowed Sanabria to advance to second. He then scored when catcher Ethan Salas (No. 1 Padres prospect) doubled to right-center field.

Fort Wayne added to its advantage in the fifth. Vilar and shortstop Jay Beshears (No. 27 Padres prospect) both hit solo home runs. For Vilar, it was his fifth of the season, while for Beshears, it was his second at the High-A level after hitting two with Single-A Lake Elsinore earlier in the year.

Vilar, who finished a triple shy of the cycle, tacked on an RBI double in the seventh to make it 5-0.

Meanwhile, Enmanuel Pinales pitched six innings with five strikeouts. He allowed just two singles and two walks. Pinales lowered his season ERA to 3.55, ninth lowest in the Midwest League. The circuit is batting only .210 against him, the fifth lowest in the league.

Dwayne Matos followed in relief in the seventh, while Manuel Castro recorded the final six outs.

Sanabria and Salas both had two hits.

The 'Caps have won two of their last three games.
