Kyle Tucker (2-for-4) pushed his team-high hit streak to 13 games, the second longest streak by a Grizzly this season (Tony Kemp, 20, April 23-May 14). During that span, Tucker is 28-for-56 (.500) with eight extra-base knocks, 11 RBI (57 on the season, 2nd in Triple-A), 13 runs, five walks and five swipes. He also played hero as the walk-off single was his second game-winner of the season (April 13 vs. Reno) and the fourth overall by Fresno.
Tucker's double in the bottom of the first was rewarded with a run thanks to an error by the Isotopes. The 1-0 lead lasted half a frame as Ryan McMahon destroyed a pitch to right field. It was his fourth longball of the season and his seventh in 11 career games against the Grizzlies. With the game knotted at one, Tucker knocked a game-ending single to center, plating Jon Kemmer in the seventh.
Rogelio Armenteros took a no-decision despite dominating for Fresno all night. He hurled six innings, allowing one hit and one run (homer by McMahon), walking a pair and fanning a season-high nine. The Grizzlies improved to 20-2 in his outings since 2017. They also went to 9-11 in one-run affairs.
Brendan McCurry (3-2) enjoyed the victory and Scott McGough (6-2) suffered the loss.
Fresno relishes an off-day on Sunday before heading to El Paso for a four-game set starting Monday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 PT. RHP Josh James (2-2, 2.23) gets the nod for the Grizzlies while the Chihuahuas counter with righty Brett Kennedy (4-0, 2.68).
