"We are very excited our fans, season members, and sponsors will have the chance to see the trophy up close," Weigle said. "Big thanks to the World Champion Houston Astros for making this happen. The Coastal Bend has been Astros country going all the way back to 1962 with the expansion Colt .45s. And our fans have been clamoring for this announcement ever since the final out last fall. I know it's going to be an awesome experience."
The Astros captured the first World Series title in their 56-year history with a 5-1 Game 7 victory November 1, 2017, at Dodger Stadium. A contingent of 10 former Hooks were featured on Houston's 25-man World Series roster, including Fall Classic MVP
Fans who attend the Kleberg Bank College Classic this weekend can enter a raffle to win photo opportunities with the World Series trophy during the April 16-17 appearances.
