66ers Raise Over A Quarter Million Dollars for Charity in 2013

Over 250 Inland Empire Organizations Use 66ers to Raise Money and Awareness
October 16, 2013

San Bernardino, CA - The 2013 season was a championship year for the Inland Empire 66ers on the field, and the team championed charity as well throughout the campaign. By partnering with over 250 different local and national organizations the Inland Empire 66ers raised over a quarter of a million dollars for charity in 2013.

"2013 was one of our most successful year ever in the two most important areas our industry," said Inland Empire 66ers General Manager Joe Hudson. "Off the field our partners helped us raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for our local community, and on the field the Angels gave our fans a fantastic team that brought the Inland Empire its sixth championship."

One of the more notable nights fundraising events hosted by the 66ers in 2013 was Protect and Serve Night where the 66ers partnered with the San Berardino Sheriff's Department and Toyota of Redlands to benefit the familes of officers who were either killed or injured in the line of duty, including those of Jeremiah MacKay and Alex Collins who were tragically impacted during the Big Bear manhunt. In total, over $20,000 was raised for those families.

The 66ers helped raise over $12,500 for the Loma Linda Children's Hospital during the team's 11th annual Golf Tournament. The team also hosted over 1,500 participants in the annual Disabilities Awareness night which featured an on field clinic and appearances by Miss Wheelchair California and local radio personality Paul Lane.

In 2013 the team donated over $70,000 in tickets, merchandise and experiences, and over 80 local partners used the 66ers to raise over $150,000 for their charities.

The Inland Empire 66ers look forward to continuing to give back to the local community in 2014 as the team attempts to defend their 2013 California League Championship. Please contact the 66ers at (909)888-9922 to find out how your favorite charity can work with the Inland Empire 66ers.
