The Kannapolis Intimidators are pleased to announce that Konnor Pilkington has been named the Chicago White Sox Minor League Pitcher of the Month.
In four starts with Kannapolis, the 20th Top Prospect in the White Sox organization carries a 2.01 ERA through 22.1 innings on the bump. Using a fastball, changeup and curve to put out batters, the southpaw has captured at least six strikeouts in all four starts, with his game-high of eight fanned batters coming on April 13 in Hickory.
Allowing, on average, just over two hits per game, the former Mississippi State Bulldog is holding opposing batters to a measly .130 batting average.
Right-handed batters in the South Atlantic League have not faired well against Pilkington, as the lefty has recorded 25 of his 28 strikeouts against right-handed hitters, holding them to a .095 avg.
A third-round pick (81st overall) in 2018 by the Chicago White Sox, Pilkington was an All-American in high school at East Central in Hurley, MS, before going on to become the ace for the Bulldogs at Mississippi State.
