Mets Snap Astros' Win-Streak with 11-2 Victory

KINGSPORT, Tenn.- Thanks to a three-run home run from Jeremy Vasquez and a five-run sixth inning, the Kingsport Mets snapped the Greeneville Astros' seven-game winning streak Sunday afternoon at Hunter Wright Stadium with a 11-2 victory in Game 3 of the series.
The win Sunday afternoon also snapped a seven-game losing streak inside the not-s-friendly confines of Hunter Wright Stadium. With the victory, the Mets improve to 4-1 when scoring more than 10 runs in a game.
Prior to the contest, fans had the opportunity to attend a tailgate party under the Mets Pavilion that featured live acoustic music from Billy Bryant with numerous giveaways. The party witnessed fans playing corn hole while sampling the many variations of drinks from Gipsy Cider and The Beer Run of Kingsport.

Trailing by a run in the bottom of the third, Vasquez launched his second professional home run to hand the Mets the lead back at 4-2. With two men on base and one out on the board, Vasquez connected on an 0-1 fastball and drove it over the right-center field fence.
From there, Greeneville (12-5) never retook the lead as the home team scored at least one run in the next three innings the rest of the way.
Every K-Met made a trip to the plate during the five-run, three-hit sixth inning as Lagrange's two-run double kicked things off. Uriarte then followed three batters later with his second double of the day. The drive drove in another pair while the fifth run of the frame scored on a two-base throwing error.
Following the sixth inning, no runs crossed home plate as the Kingsport Mets held on to defeat the Greeneville Astros 11-2 in Game 3 of a four-game series. Both William Oxford and Stephen Villines came in to finish the game for the K-Mets as the duo combined to pitch the final four innings of shutout baseball with a combined five strikeouts.

Four K-Mets tallied multi-hit days while Fermin scraped across three hits in the win. Vasquez tallied the long ball during the victory but Uriarte doubled twice to drive in three while Lagrange plated three runs as well. Moscote also notched two hits with an RBI in the victory.
Offensively for the Astros who were held in check for only two runs off eight hits, Cody Bohanek and Tovalin collected multi-hit days.
