WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - With a 7-2 victory in the series finale over the Rome Braves, the Lexington Legends split the series with the Braves, 2-2. Lexington's record now improves to 23-21 while Rome's drops to 28-18.
The Legends plated their first run in the bottom of the first inning.
In the top of the second inning, Rome's catcher, William Contreas lined a two-out double down the right field line.
The Legends then scored four runs in the bottom of the third.
Lexington continued scoring in the fourth. Aracena led things off with a double to right field and then advanced to third on a groundout by Pratto. Aracena then scored on a fielding error by the Braves and the Legends 6-2.
In the bottom of the sixth Perez reached base on another error by the Braves then scored on an RBI single by Jones, and Lexington led 7-2.
The Legends now travel to Asheville to face the Tourists in a five-game series in North Carolina. The Legends will be back at Whitaker Bank Ballpark Tuesday, May 29 at 7:05 p.m. to face the West Virginia Power.
