Dodgers Score Early in 3-2 Win Thursday

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Dodgers scored one run in each of the first three innings on the way to a 3-2 win against the Omaha Storm Chasers Thursday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
With the win, the Dodgers won their three-game series against the Storm Chasers and finished 8-8 in the season series after back-to-back victories at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Dodgers (68-59) took a quick lead in the first inning.
Andrew Toles doubled with one out for Oklahoma City and advanced to third base on a groundout by Kyle Farmer. With Alex Verdugo at the plate, a wild pitch by former Oklahoma City Dodger and current Omaha pitcher Trevor Oaks allowed Toles to score for a 1-0 Dodgers lead.
Edwin Ríos singled to lead off the bottom of the second inning and scored when Will Smith hit a sacrifice fly, coupled with an Omaha fielding error on the play, for a 2-0 Oklahoma City advantage.
The Storm Chasers (59-69) cut the lead in half in the third inning, bringing home a run on a fielder's choice.
A two-out RBI single into left field by Ríos extended the Oklahoma City lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the inning. The Dodgers went on to load the bases, but Oaks got Will Smith to ground into a force out to end the inning.
Nicky Lopez led off the fourth inning with a solo homer for the Storm Chasers to cut the Dodgers' lead to 3-2, but that would be the final run of the night for either team.
Ríos led the Dodgers with three hits and one RBI Thursday, while Andrew Toles and Matt Beaty each finished with multi-hit games as well. The Dodgers outhit Omaha, 9-7.
Dodgers starting pitcher Logan Bawcom (2-3) picked up the win, allowing two runs and five hits over six innings. He did not issue a walk and recorded four strikeouts.
Dodgers relievers Josh Fields, on a Major League rehab assignment from Los Angeles, Edward Paredes, Stetson Allie and Brian Schlitter held the Storm Chasers scoreless over the final four innings. Schlitter retired all three batters he faced in the ninth inning for his 18th save of the season.
Oaks (8-7) was pinned with the loss for Omaha, allowing three runs (two earned) and eight hits over six innings with one walk and three strikeouts.
The Dodgers open a pivotal four-game series between the top two teams in the American Northern Division at 7:05 p.m. Friday against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox to kick off Fan Appreciation Weekend at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The OKC Disc Dogs will perform on the field and fireworks will follow the game, presented by Francis Tuttle.
