Mother's Day has passed this year, but it's never to late to honor the heroics of one motherly figure.

In the bottom of the fifth inning of the Chattanooga Lookouts' Friday night contest with the Rocket City Trash Pandas (Angels), Reds prospect Nicholas Northcut fouled off the first pitch of his at-bat into the seating behind the on-deck circle on the first-base side at AT&T Field.

What looked like a regular occurrence turned into a souvenir and a memory one mother won't forget. Appearing to walk toward the steps of the concourse, this mother saw spectators stand above her as the foul ball struck seating and bounced in her direction.

With a child in her right arm, she caught it off the bounce with her left hand, holding it high as the crowd erupted in cheer for the spectacular grab. The flawless grab ended with her turning to other spectators near home plate, giving a bow and going on with her walk down the steps.

The Lookouts left with a 10-8 loss, but this mother and child came out winners. In what has been a wild month for fan catches all across the baseball landscape, it's apparent this catch is a worthy nominee when Mom of the Year voting goes down.
