Dominguez Earns Eastern League Pitcher of the Week

MANCHESTER, NH - On Monday, June 3, the Eastern League announced that New Hampshire RHP Michael Dominguez was named Pitcher of the Week for May 27-June 2. Dominguez tossed a season-high six innings on May 30 in a 6-1 win in Akron and did not allow a hit or run behind five strikeouts.

Dominguez earned his first win and first decision of the season with his six scoreless innings on May 30, which was also his first quality start of the year. A 15th round selection by Toronto in 2019 out of Jefferson HS (Tampa, FL), Dominguez threw five scoreless innings and struck out a season-high nine on April 18 at Portland in a 3-0 loss.

Dominguez, the 23-year-old from Tampa, FL, joins New Hampshire RHP CJ Van Eyk on the list of Fisher Cats pitchers to receive Eastern League honors this season. Van Eyk was honored by the league for his five-inning scoreless start on May 10 against Harrisburg.

The Fisher Cats are scheduled to play 69 home games in 2024 at Delta Dental Stadium. New Hampshire continues their two-week road trip with a six-game series against the Erie SeaWolves, beginning Tuesday, June 4. The Fisher Cats return to Delta Dental Stadium to host the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Tuesday, June 11 to begin two weeks of baseball in Manchester.
