Behind 1-0 after an inning, the Cyclones (26-22) grabbed the lead for good in the top of the second. After consecutive walks to SS Wilfredo Lara and C Chris Suero, De Los Santos stepped up for the first time and rifled the second pitch he saw down the line in right for an RBI double, tying the game at one.
Following back-to-back strikeouts, RF Nick Morabito stung a ball to short that could not be fielded cleanly. The 21-year-old reached on the fielding error, scoring Suero, providing Brooklyn a 2-1 advantage. DH Nick Lorusso clubbed the next delivery for a run-scoring single to stretch the cushion to two, 3-1.

An inning later, De Los Santos continued his party. With a man at second and two out, De Los Santos deposited a ball onto the berm in right for a two-run home run. The left-handed swingers’ second of the season extended the advantage to four, 5-1.

Brooklyn continued to tack on in the fifth, increasing the lead to a game-high seven, 8-1. Lara coaxed a one-out walk and scooted around the bases on three wild pitches to make it a five-run affair before 1B Mateo Gil and Morabito added a run-scoring double and single, respectively.

Jersey Shore (26-22) would not go quietly, as after a pair of walks and a hit batter, CF Justin Crawford laced a grand slam around the right-field pole. The 20-year-old’s third home run of the season pulled the BlueClaws within three, 8-5.
The Cyclones made sure that was as close as they would get, tacking on an insurance run in the next half inning. Suero walked, stole second, and scored on Gil’s second RBI double of the night, pushing the margin back to four, 9-5.
RHP Jawilme Ramírez (2-1) allowed a run on three hits through the game’s first three hitters but did not allow a run after that. The 22-year-old allowed just one tally on seven hits over a season-high 5.0 innings for his second-straight win.
RHP Estibenzon Jiménez (2-7) punched out a season-high 10 for Jersey Shore but was taxed for five runs (three earned) in four innings, suffering his third-consecutive defeat.
RHP Douglas Orellana (0-0, 1.06) is scheduled to make the start for Brooklyn on Friday night in search of their third-straight triumph. Jersey Shore is projected to counter with RHP Eiberson Castellano (2-2, 3.78). The first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. from ShoreTown Ballpark.
