Friday, July 2, 2021 – Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark – Oklahoma City, Okla.
Game Summary: The Oklahoma City Dodgers scored one run in the bottom of the ninth inning and put the potential tying and go-ahead runs on base, but fell to the Salt Lake Bees, 2-1, Friday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Salt Lake carried a 2-0 lead into the ninth inning. Drew Butera tripled with one out in the fifth inning and scored on a RBI single by Jack Mayfield for a 1-0 Salt Lake lead. Mayfield then tripled in the seventh inning and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Jo Adell for a 2-0 lead. The Dodgers were held scoreless through eight innings. In the ninth, Luke Raley singled with one out and Andy Burns drew a four-pitch walk. Both runners advanced on a groundout and then with Raley at third base and DJ Peters at the plate, a wild pitch by Salt Lake pitcher Tim Peterson allowed Raley to score for the Dodgers’ first run of the night. With Burns representing the tying run at third base, Peters drew a walk to put the potential go-ahead run on, but Peterson struck out Matt Davidson to end the game.
Of Note:

-One night after scoring 11 runs, including 10 runs in one inning, the Dodgers were held to their lowest run total since a 6-1 loss to Sacramento in OKC May 18. Friday ended a streak of 37 games for the Dodgers with at least two runs scored.
-All seven of the Dodgers’ hits Friday night were singles, marking the first time since that same May 18 home loss to Sacramento that OKC was held without an extra-base hit.
-The Bees evened the six-game series with the Dodgers, 1-1, after OKC won Thursday’s series opener.
-In the fifth game of his Major League Rehab Assignment, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Scott Alexander threw a scoreless and hitless sixth inning with two strikeouts. He inherited two runners with none out and retired all three batters he faced, throwing 10 pitches, including eight strikes.
-Friday’s game was completed in 2 hours, 41 minutes — the shortest nine-inning game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark this season.
-Luke Raley went 2-for-3 for the Dodgers Friday and scored the team’s lone run. Over his last 21 starts with OKC, Raley is 30-for-77 (.390) with seven doubles, two triples, seven homers, 34 RBI and 25 runs scored. *
