ABERDEEN, MD (July 4, 2021) – Luke Ritter homered against Baltimore Orioles rehabber John Means but the IronBirds had the last laugh, beating the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, 7-2 Sunday at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium to win the series five games to two.

BIG MOMENTS

  • Rylan Bannon broke the 1-1 tie in the bottom of the third inning, blasting a two-run home run into the left field bullpen against Alec Kisena. Bannon and JD Mundy later scored in the fifth inning on Zach Watson’s two-run single to push the lead to 6-2.
  • Against Baltimore Orioles rehabber John Means, Luke Ritter slammed a solo home run over the left-center field wall in the top of the second to tie the game 1-1. Ritter launched his team-leading 10th homer of the season.
