CONEY ISLAND, NY (August 8, 2021) – Francisco Alvarez drove in the winning run Sunday to complete a walk-off and comeback 5-4 victory for the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, Sunday afternoon against Hudson Valley on a cloudy, misty day at Maimonides Park.

- Down 4-3 in the ninth inning, the Cyclones rallied for a come-from-behind walk-off victory against Renegades closer Derek Craft. Antoine Duplantis singled and scored on Ronny Mauricio’s game-tying RBI triple. The next batter, Francisco Alvarez delivered the sac fly to plate Mauricio from third and give Brooklyn a 5-4 win.
- Jeremy Vasquez barrelled up a 407-foot home run in the bottom of the eighth for Brooklyn to pull the Cyclones to within 4-3.
- For the second time in the week, Hudson Valley right-hander Randy Vasquez struck out double-digit Cyclones. Vasquez fanned 11 batters, four days removed from striking out 10 on Tuesday. The Yankees No. 25 prospect allowed one run on seven hits with no walks in 5 2/3 frames.
Everson Pereira started the scoring in the top of the third, launching an opposite-field shot into The Backyard to give Hudson Valley a 2-0 lead.
