Today Major League Baseball and the Harrisburg Senators announce the 2023 Harrisburg Senators schedule. The Senators will play 69 home games beginning Tuesday, April 11 against the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Giants). The season opener is Thursday, April 6 at Somerset.
The season begins on the Thursday, April 6 and lasts until Sunday, September 17 for a total of 138 games. The Senators finish at home for the first time since 2019.
Each series is six-games, Tuesday through Sunday with every Monday an off day. The only exceptions to the six-game schedule are the season opening 3-game series at Somerset and a three-game series at home against Richmond beginning Friday, July 14. The week of Monday, July 10 to Thursday, July 13 is mid-season break. The Senators will celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with a home game against Altoona July 3. The only other quirk in the schedule is a six-game series Wednesday, June 28 through Monday, July 3 against Altoona with two off days (Monday and Tuesday, June 26th and 27) prior to the series.
The Senators don’t play either Hartford or Portland at all in 2023. Additionally, the Senators don’t play Binghamton at home. The Senators have two twelve-game two series homestands and two twelve-game two series road trips.
Harrisburg hosts Bowie, Erie, and Altoona 12 games each and Richmond for 9 games. Bowie is the opponent the Sens see the most as the two play 24 times over the course of the season. The Sens play their division opponents 99 games and the Northeast Division 39 games. Reading and New Hampshire are the only Northeast Division teams the Senators play six-games at home and on the road.
