Renegades Use Long Ball in 13-8 Win on Sunday

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY (September 12, 2021) – Behind four monster home runs and big rallies, the Hudson Valley Renegades defeated the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, 13-8 Sunday night at Dutchess Stadium to win the series four games to three.

KEY PLAYS

• Brooklyn cut the deficit to 13-8, scoring four runs in the top of the sixth. The Cyclones took advantage of Wilmer Reyes’ three-run tank to left field. Francisco Alvarez barrelled up a solo home run in the ninth inning to make it 13-9, but the rally fell short.
• The Renegades blitzed Brooklyn starter David Griffin for seven runs in the bottom of the second inning, collecting home runs from Austin Wells, Andres Chaparro, and Elijah Dunham to take a 7-3 lead and knock the starter out of the game.
