GENEVA, Ill. – Minor League Baseball has announced the cancellation of the 2020 Minor League Baseball season.
“We are disappointed and sad that for the first time in 30 years there will not be Cougars baseball in Kane County, but our top priority is keeping our fans, players and staff safe.” said Cougars Owner Dr. Bob Froehlich.
An action packed summer of promotions was planned for our 30th anniversary season with fireworks shows, theme nights, premium item giveaways and pregame concerts. Now those plans will wait for 2021.
“This is a tough time for so many people in our community. We wish we could provide our fans the opportunity to escape to a night of family entertainment at the ballpark right now. Rest assured we will be working hard between now and next spring to prepare the best season yet of Cougars Baseball,” said Vice President and General Manager Curtis Haug.
Haug continued, “Our fans, vendors & sponsors have been so supportive and we can’t wait until the day we can welcome them back to beautiful Northwestern Medicine Field.”
