2024 Baseballtown Charities Phillies Winter Tour Begins February 15

(Reading, PA) - The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, are excited to announce that the 2024 Baseballtown Charities Phillies Winter Caravan presented by Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc. will begin Thursday night Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. Fightin Phils broadcaster Jake Starr will be joined by a variety of former and current Reading players and coaches.

The caravan can be streamed on a variety of our social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram Story, Twitter, Twitch and YouTube. Starr will be joined by a variety of former and current R-Phils players and coaches. Phillies Pitcher Orion Kerkering will join Starr this Thursday to lead off. Kerkering played for Reading in 2023, and made his big league debut in September after pitching for every Phillies full-season affiliate during the season.

The schedule for this years Caravan is as follows (all begin at 8 p.m.):

Feb. 22: Fightin Phils Manager Al Pedrique
Feb. 29: Fightin Phils Hitting Coach Brock Stassi
Mar. 7: Fightin Phils Pitcher Andrew Baker
Mar. 14: Phillies Assistant General Manager, Player Development: Preston Mattingly

Pedrique managed the Fightin Phils in 2023 and will return for his second season at the helm this upcoming year. Stassi will join Pedrique's staff as the R-Phils' hitting coach, after having multiple stints as a player in Reading. Stassi also made his major league debut with the Phillies in 2017. Baker spent the last month of 2022 and all of the '23 season with the Fightin Phils and features a fastball that sits in the upper 90's and consistently touched 100 miles per hour. Mattingly was hired by the Phillies in 2021 as their Director of Player Development, and was promoted to Assistant General Manager, Player Development this past offseason.

The R-Phils also welcome back Leibensberger Funeral Home as the primary sponsor for the Winter Caravan, benefitting Baseballtown Charities.

Additionally, an online auction will be included with the Caravan. Included with the auction is R-Phils nostalgic memorabilia, autographed items and one-of-a kind experiences at the ballpark! The Reading Fightin Phils return to FirstEnergy Stadium to open the 2024 season on April 9, 2024, against the Portland Sea Dogs. While individual game tickets go on sale at a later date, fans can purchase a General Admission 10 Pack, which includes 10 General Admission tickets to be used at any game, as well as two FREE Opening Night Tickets; all for just $70. Fans can also purchase a Mini Plan or Flex Bank for the 2024 season. Mini Plans start with as few as four games, and flex banks as little as 12 tickets.
