51s Host Tacoma over Memorial Day Weekend (May 25-29)

LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas 51s PROFESSIONAL baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, will open a brief five-game homestand over the Memorial Day weekend on Friday, May 25 against the Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, at Cashman Field at 7:05 p.m. The series will feature two matinee contests on Sunday and Tuesday, May 27 & 29 at 12:05 p.m. The Saturday and Monday (May 26 & 28) games will begin at 7:05 p.m.
The 51s, under manager Tony DeFrancesco, are currently on an eight-game road trip that will conclude in Northern California on Thursday, May 24 against the Sacramento River Cats, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
The 51s organization have the proud distinction of being the longest enduring franchise in the history of professional sports in the state of Nevada.
2018 CASHMAN FIELD ATTENDANCE: In 24 dates, Las Vegas total is 127,322 for an average of 5,305. The season-high crowd is 9,003 vs. Fresno on April 20. The Las Vegas franchise has reached the 300,000 mark in "home" attendance in all 35 seasons (1983-2017). The all-time attendance total now stands at 11,796,109.
MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT - FRIDAY, MAY 25:
A spectacular post-game Fireworks Show, presented by Findlay Toyota, will be featured in the series opener on Military Appreciation Night, benefiting Honor Flight Southern Nevada. The "Fireworks" shows will be featured at every Friday home game throughout the 2018 campaign.
Honor Flight Southern Nevada is a VOLUNTEER BASED non-profit organization with the mission of escorting WWII Veterans to the memorials in Washington, D.C., dedicated to the sacrifices they made for our freedom!
KTNV Channel 13, Lotus Broadcasting and the 51s have teamed up with Honor Flight Southern Nevada to raise money to send WWII veterans from our community as well as Tonopah, Ely, Mesquite, Laughlin, Pahrump and surrounding areas to memorials in Washington, D.C. that stand in their honor.
KTNV's helicopter will land in the outfield at Cashman Field prior to Friday's game with WWII Veteran Roger Bain, who will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on behalf of Honor Flight Southern Nevada. Other first pitches will have representatives from Nellis AFB, Nevada Army National Guard and United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Nevada Army National Guard will have a static display at the main gate; United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will have an information booth at the main gate. In addition, Nevada Army National Guard; Honor Flight Southern Nevada & Thunderbirds will have information located on the concourse level.
51s Camouflage Baseball Cap Night, to the first 2,500 fans through the gates (open at 6 p.m.), presented by Findlay Toyota, will be featured in game two of the series against Tacoma on Saturday, May 26.
A'ja Wilson, the number one overall pick of the 2018 WNBA Draft, from the Las Vegas Aces will "throw out" the ceremonial first pitch!
Game four of the five-game series against the Rainiers on Memorial Day (May 28, 7:05 p.m.) will feature "Smith's Value Menu Monday." Monday "home" games will feature a "Value Menu" for the 10th straight season! The 51s and Centerplate have teamed together for discounted food items on Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Peanuts, Cracker Jack, Pretzels and Churros for just $1.00 per item.
MiLB Es Divertido Ser Un Fan - "It's Fun To Be A Fan Campaign!" The 51s will transform to the Las Vegas Reyes de Plata ("Silver Kings") eight times during the 2018 season at Cashman Field. The finale of the five-game series on Tuesday, May 29 will feature Reyes de Plata! The remaining dates are: Tuesday, June 5, July 24, August 21, August 28.
MiLB (on July 24, 2017) launched Es Divertido Ser Un Fan, a new multi-cultural fan engagement platform aimed at specifically connecting with Hispanic/Latino baseball fans in 160 markets throughout the U.S. and Canada. The program debuted in August of 2017 in select MiLB markets, including Las Vegas, Charlotte, North Carolina; Kane County, Illinois; and Visalia, California, with national expansion in the 2018 season. The Las Vegas Reyes de Plata will take the field celebrating the city and state's pioneering history at the forefront of the precious metal mining business that continues to define the Silver State today.
Tacoma's roster features four former Las Vegas 51s players: left-hander
Following the homestand, the 51s will embark on a brief five-game road trip to Northern Nevada to face intrastate rival, the Reno Aces, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, at Greater Nevada Field on Wednesday-Sunday, May 30 - June 3. The next scheduled off day for the PCL is Monday, June 4.
SILVER STATE DIAMOND CHALLENGE: In 2009, Las Vegas and Reno developed the Silver State Diamond Challenge and the "Silver Plate Trophy" to add to the excitement to the rivalry for the two PCL teams that represent the state of Nevada. Reno defeated Las Vegas, 3-games-to-1, in the 2015 PCL Conference Championship Series.
The 2018 campaign will mark the 10th season of the S.S.D.C.

The 51s will broadcast all games on Lotus Broadcasting on NBC Sports Radio AM 920 'THE GAME', which will carry live all 140 regular season games. Also, all games will be available on the 51s website (Major League Baseball Advanced Media, MLBAM) at www.LV51.com. Russ Langer, the 10-time Nevada Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA), is in his 19th season behind the microphone calling 51s baseball.
All 51s games (home & away) will also be broadcast on MiLB.TV via LV51.com.
Tickets for all 51s home games can be purchased at the SCE Federal Credit Union Box Office at Cashman Field. The box office is open Monday-Friday (non-game days) from Noon to 4:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased through Ticketmaster (1-800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com).
The individual game tickets for the 70-game home season are priced at $11.00 (reserved, $12.00-Day of Game); $14.00 (plaza, $15.00-Day of Game) and $17.00 (field, $18.00-Day of Game) & the blue dugout seats at $30.00 ($35-Day of Game). The traditional $2.00 discount for Military personnel is offered on plaza, field and reserved seats throughout the season.
