MONTGOMERY, AL – After falling behind 2-0 early, the Biloxi Shuckers (21-33) came back with three unanswered runs, but a late push from the Montgomery Biscuits (32-23) led to a 5-4 Shuckers loss in 10 innings at Riverwalk Stadium on Friday night. The game marked the second straight game in the series to go to extra-innings.

The Biscuits struck first with a two-out RBI triple from Tanner Murray in the second that scored Dru Baker from second. They then doubled the lead to 2-0 with a fielder’s choice from Nick Schnell in the fourth that scored Bob Seymour from third.

In the sixth, the Shuckers tied the game at two after an RBI triple from Carlos Rodriguez and a sacrifice fly from Brock Wilken. They took a 3-2 lead in the seventh when Zavier Warren blooped a single into left, scoring Ernesto Martinez from third. In the bottom of the inning, however, the Biscuits tied the game at three with an inside-the-park home run from Chandler Simpson, his first at the Double-A level.

In the ninth, the Biscuits put the winning run at second with two outs, but Sam Carlson entered the game and induced a flyout to right, sending the game to extras for the second straight night.

In the top of the 10th, Carlos Rodriguez, the placed runner at second, advanced to third on a deep flyout to center and gave the Shuckers a 4-3 lead when he scored on a wild pitch. The Biscuits tied the game at four in the bottom half with an error that allowed Carson Williams to score from third. Nick Schnell then smashed a double off the top of the wall in right, scoring Bob Seymour from first and giving the Biscuits a walk-off, 5-4 win.

Kyle Whitten (3-0) took the win for Montgomery while Sam Carlson (2-2) got the loss for Biloxi.
