Aces Opening Day Festivities Unveiled Ahead of April 12

RENO, Nev. – Professional baseball returns to Northern Nevada for the 2022 season as Mayor Hillary Schieve will proclaim April 12, 2022, as “Reno Aces Day” during the team’s 14th Opening Day, pre-game celebration in downtown Reno at Greater Nevada Field. RENO, Nev. – Professional baseball returns to Northern Nevada for the 2022 season as Mayor Hillary Schieve will proclaim April 12, 2022, as “Reno Aces Day” during the team’s 14th Opening Day, pre-game celebration in downtown Reno at Greater Nevada Field. A video of the official signing of the Proclamation by the mayor can be viewed and downloaded here. Ahead of the festivities, the club is pleased to share with its fans, media, and partners what to expect.

Fans are strongly encouraged to arrive early at the ballpark and join in the festivities, including individual player introductions for both teams before the start of the game. The pre-game celebrations will also feature unique pyrotechnics provided by PyroGuys, Inc.

Also, the Aces will be sporting a refreshed on-field look for the first time since 2018, as spectators of all ages in attendance will be the first to see the Aces’ new uniforms when the team takes the field.

Then, a quartet of ceremonial First Pitches will take place:

  • A representative from Donor Network West, proud partner of Opening Day at Greater Nevada Field

  • 2022 Winter Olympics Silver Medalist David Wise, a Reno native

  • Ken Wilson, Head Coach of Nevada Wolf Pack football

  • Joe Hart, Anchor at KRNV News 4

    Off the field, the Aces and Pro Sports Catering have partnered to bring exceptional culinary delights to the concession stands around the ballpark. Tabbed as the “Vs.” items, each homestand will have exclusive items based on the visiting ballclub.

For the first series of the 2022 season against the Sacramento River Cats, the “Vs.” menu will include:

  • River Cats Burger: A beef burger topped with Bacon Mac and Cheese.

  • Sacramento Dog: A bacon-wrapped jumbo hot dog topped with Mac and Cheese.

  • Sierra Mountain Frys: Sweet Potato Frys.

    “We could not be more excited to have Aces baseball back for the 2022 season at Greater Nevada Field for all the fans throughout the Northern Nevada region,” said Aces President Eric Edelstein. “I’m very proud of all of the hard work done by our team in the off-season as we continue to be Reno’s premiere family-friendly entertainment destination to have fun and create countless memories when attending an event at the ballpark.”

    The Reno Aces’ first homestand of the season will include two six-game series between the Sacramento River Cats, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, and the Salt Lake Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, beginning on Tuesday, April 12th.
