KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (May 2, 2017) - Micker Adolfo clubbed his first career grand slam and drove in a career-high five RBI as the Intimidators ran away from the Augusta GreenJackets, 12-5, on Tuesday night at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System. Kannapolis (12-12) scored a season-high 12 runs as Brandon Dulin joined Adolfo in leaving the yard.

The Intimidators overcame an early 3-0 deficit with 15 hits on the night, scoring two runs int he fourth and five in the fifth before tacking on four in the seventh and one in the eight. Joel Booker finished 3-for-5 with three extra-base hits, including two doubles and a triple, while driving in a run and scoring twice. All nine Intimidators batters hit safely, as Mitch Roman joined Booker with the team's other 3-hit performance.
Bernardo Flores (4-1) earned his fourth straight win, working around five runs (four earned) on six hits in 6.0 innings. He struck out six and and walked one while giving up a pair of home runs to the GreenJackets.
Augusta built an early 3-0 lead with a run in the first and a Kelvin Beltre 2-run home run (3) in the third.
GreenJackets starting pitcher Domenic Mazza, who tossed the South Atlantic League's first 9-inning perfect game in his last start in Lexington, picked up where he left off against the Legends. The left-hander retired the Intimidators in order over the first three innings.
Booker opened the bottom of the fourth inning by doing something no hitter had done in 12 previous innings - reaching base against Domenic Mazza. Booker doubled, and Roman singled him over to third base. Jameson Fisher and Adolfo followed with back-to-back RBI-knocks to pull Kannapolis within a run of the GreenJackets, 3-2.
Augusta and Kannapolis traded runs in the fourth inning before the Intimidators erupted in the fifth. The I's batted around as Grant Massey's sac-fly cashed Seby Zavala to open the offensive onslaught, and Adolfo belted his first career grand slam - his first home run of the season - off Mazza to put Kannapolis in front, 7-4.
Brandon Dulin homered (3)in the seventh, a 3-run shot off GreenJackets reliever Cameron Avila-Leeper to extend the Intimidators lead to 11-5.
Mazza (1-3) suffered the loss, allowing nine runs on 11 hits over 6 and 1/3 innings.
