The catcher got off to a slow start this season, going 12-for-72 in 18 games in April. Entering Monday, he'd had just one hit since April 23.

Briceno originally signed with the Rockies as a 16-year-old in 2009 and has bounced around since. He was traded to the Braves in January 2015 and to the Angels that November in the deal involving
Briceno was the Angels No. 30 prospect in 2015, but batted .232 with four homers and 35 RBIs in 98 games across three levels last season.
He was a non-roster invitee to Spring Training with the Angels this year, hitting .429 with two RBIs in eight Cactus League games before being assigned to Mobile.
Anderson finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs.
