Astros Select Contract of LHP Parker Mushinski

(SUGAR LAND, Texas) – The Houston Astros today selected the contract of Sugar Land Space Cowboys left-hander Parker Mushinski, while placing right-hander Ryan Pressly on the 10-day IL. Mushinski, 26, is set to make his Major League debut and is the first Space Cowboys player to be promoted to the Astros this season.

The 27-year-old left-hander has not allowed an earned run through his four appearances with the Space Cowboys this season (4.2 IP), striking out five batters without allowing a walk, and surrendering just one hit.

Mushinski is entering his sixth season within the Astros organization. He spent time with both Sugar Land and Double A Corpus Christi in 2021, going a combined 0-4 with a 3.60 ERA (26 ER/65.0 IP) and one save in 23 games (10 GS).

The Astros selected Mushinski in the seventh round of the 2017 MLB Draft from Texas Tech.
