Baker's second inning solo shot easily cleared the fence in left center, giving the Cardinals a 1-0 lead that would hold until Missions 1B Taylor Kohlwey tied the game 1-1 with a fourth-inning RBI single.
San Antonio went ahead for good in the fifth with an RBI double off the bat of SS Chris Givin, who finished the night 2-for-4.
Springfield lefty Domingo Robles (0-1) was sharp in his fifth start of the season, giving up just a pair of unearned runs on four hits and zero walks over 4.2 innings, striking out four and lowering his season ERA to 3.42.
Cardinals 2B Nolan Gorman led Springfield with two hits--including a fourth-inning double.
Missions batters added seven runs off the Cardinals bullpen, with three runs charged to RHP Jacob Bosiokovic (1.1 IP) and four scored off RHP Michael Brettell (2.2 IP, 3 ER).
