Banks dazzles in Memorial Day win over Potomac

Banks (3-2) threw just 86 pitches, and never registered more than 13 pitches in a single inning. The southpaw allowed just one run and did not walk a batter, scattering seven hits to earn his third consecutive win. It is also the third straight start that Banks has thrown at least seven innings. During this span, Banks is 3-0 with a 0.83 ERA.
After Joan Baez (2-3) started the game with three perfect innings, Winston-Salem (28-23) struck in the fourth for two runs.
Potomac (26-21) scored its lone run in the bottom of the fourth. After Carter Kieboom led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt, he came in to score on a double into the left-field corner from Tres Barrera.
Remillard added to the Dash tally in the sixth inning, when he blasted a solo home run to left field to lead off the inning, his third home run of the season.
From there, the Dash offense caught fire, plating mulitple runs in three straight innings against reliever Hayden Howard. Winston-Salem brought around two runs in the seventh inning, three in the eight inning, and tacked on two more in the ninth.

In the next inning, Forbes came to the plate with runners on second and third with two outs. The Mississippi native crushed a pitch from Howard over the left-field fence for a three-run homer, making it an 8-1 game.

Following their seven-game road swing, the Dash return to BB&T Ballpark for a three-game set against the Carolina Mudcats from Friday through Sunday.
