The Hooks earned a series win by beating Northwest Arkansas, 12-7, before 4,952 fans at Whataburger Field Saturday night. CC totaled six walks and 16 hits, with seven going for extra bases.

Each man in the lineup recorded a knock as Grae Kessinger, Justin Dirden, Will Wagner, Alex McKenna, and Cesar Salazar logged multi-hit performances. Dirden hit a two-run home run in the first and Kessinger added a three-run clout in the second.

After managing a marker in the third, the Hooks hung a five-spot in the fourth, chasing Naturals starter Noah Murdock from the game. Wagner doubled twice and drove in a pair. McKenna cracked a triple and plated three on the day.

Following a rough start by Misael Tamarez, Corpus Christi’s bullpen permitted three base runners over the final five innings. Chandler Casey earned the win by blanking NW Arkansas in the fifth and sixth. Franny Cobos struck out five in two perfect frames before Jonathan Sprinkle handled the ninth.

After dropping all six to Midland last week, the Hooks can finish this series at 5-1 with a win today.
