BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (August 5, 2018) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, jumped on the board with a pair of runs in the first inning and never looked back, winning their fifth straight game and seventh straight road game 10-1 against the Birmingham Barons Sunday afternoon at Regions Field.
The BayBears (56-54 overall, 19-23 second half) pitching staff held Birmingham (54-58, 22-22) scoreless for 24 consecutive innings, going back to Friday, before finally giving up a run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth.
The BayBears wrap up the five-game road series against Birmingham Monday at 7:05 p.m. CDT. Right-handed pitcher
