BayBears drop both games of doubleheader in walk-off fashion

PEARL, Miss. (June 15, 2019) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, dropped a pair of games in walk-off fashion, 4-3 and 3-2, to the Mississippi Braves Saturday evening at Trustmark Park.
GAME ONE:
The BayBears tallied three runs on 11 hits against Dallas Keuchel, making his second start as a member of the Braves organization. Jo Adell went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in a two-run first.
Drew Waters and Ryan Casteel both hit first-inning home runs for the Braves to tie the game 2-2. Cristian Pache knotted up the score again with a two-out home run in the bottom of the seventh. Former BayBear Riley Unroe delivered a walk-off single off Brett Hanewich (0-2) in the eighth.
Connor Justus went 3-for-3 in the game and scored a run in the fourth to give Mobile a 3-2 lead.
GAME TWO:
For the second straight game, the BayBears (26-41) scored a pair of runs in the first inning but let the lead slip away.
Ian Anderson (5-4) did not allow another run after the first and pitched a complete game. He allowed just three hits and struck out seven batters.
The Braves (33-35) scored a pair of runs on Mobile errors in the first and sixth to tie the game 2-2. After back-to-back singles against Adam Hofacket (1-2) in the seventh, Adrian Almeida issued a pair of one-out walks to end the game. Tyler Neslony drew the final free pass to plate Luis Valenzuela.
The BayBears wrap up the six-game road series and the first half of the season against Mississippi Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Jesus Castillo (4-6, 3.41 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against southpaw Kyle Muller (4-3, 2.58 ERA) for the Braves.
