Allday goes 5-for-6 with home run and two RBI in pair of losses

MOBILE, Ala. (May 4, 2017) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, dropped both games of a doubleheader Thursday night against the Jackson Generals at Hank Aaron Stadium.
GAME ONE:
The BayBears fell behind early and ended up taking a 6-2 loss in the first game of the doubleheader.
Parker Bridwell (0-1) pitched 3 2/3 innings, a new season-high with the BayBears, but gave up two home runs in the first inning and took the loss. Colin Walsh hit a leadoff home run, and Rudy Flores went deep three batters later to put the Generals in front 2-0.
Jackson starter Alex Young (2-0) pitched five innings and allowed just one run on four hits with three strikeouts. Steve Hathaway threw 22 pitches, 11 for strikes, and gave up one run on one hit with two walks in the first outing of his first Major League rehabilitation assignment.
Forrestt Allday went a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI single, and Wade Wass hit his second home run of the season, a solo shot to right-center field in the fifth.
GAME TWO:
The BayBears (11-16) cut a three-run deficit to just one, but Jackson (17-9) held on to edge Mobile 4-3 in the second game of the doubleheader.
After falling behind 3-0 through the first three innings, Allday got the BayBears on the board with a solo home run to right field, his first of the season. Allday finished the game 2-for-3 and went 5-for-6 in the twin bill. He has recorded a multi-hit performance in four of his last five games.
Dawel Lugo went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI doubles in the third and fifth.
Following Lugo's fifth-inning double, Ronnie Muck kept the Generals off the board with two scoreless, hitless frames. Muck has only allowed two hits in his last six appearances, spanning 7 1/3 innings.
Ivan Pineyro (2-0) earned his second win of the season, giving up two runs on five hits with four strikeouts in five innings pitched. Tyler Carpenter (1-3) allowed four runs on 10 hits in five innings and took the loss for Mobile.
The BayBears continue a five-game home series Friday at 7:05 p.m. CT against Jackson. Right-hander Grayson Long (0-1, 2.45 ERA) is slated to make the start against righty Taylor Clarke (2-1, 2.86 ERA) for the Generals.
