(May 28, 2019) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, were held hitless for six innings but broke through with two runs in the seventh to win the series opener 2-1 against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp Tuesday night at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
The two runs proved to be enough, as Jacksonville (19-32) stranded six runners in scoring position. The Jumbo Shrimp plated an unearned run but left the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth.
The BayBears continue the five-game road series against Jacksonville Wednesday at 6:05 p.m. CDT.
