PENSACOLA, Fla. (May 19, 2019) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, trailed after three innings, tied the game in eighth, but fell to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 4-3 in 10 innings Sunday afternoon at Blue Wahoos Stadium.
Jhoan Urena extended his on-base streak to 17 games with a pair of doubles, including game-tying two-bagger in the eighth. Brendon Sanger also reached base safely for his 14th straight game, and he drove in the two other BayBears (18-25) runs with a sacrifice fly and an RBI double.
After Travis Blankenhorn hit his third home run of the series, a two-run shot to give the Blue Wahoos (27-17) a 3-2 lead in the third. It was the first time Mobile had trailed in a game since Thursday night's series opener.
In the 10th inning, the BayBears had a chance to score with the bases loaded but Ryan Mason (2-0) got Pensacola out of the jam. Jaylin Davis drove in the winning run in the bottom of the frame with a one-out single to left field off Adam Hofacket (1-1).
The BayBears wrap up the five-game road series against Pensacola Monday at 6:35 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Jeremy Beasley (1-3, 4.70 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against righty Randy Dobnak (2-0, 2.93 ERA) for the Blue Wahoos.
