Beer City Battles, Winston-Salem Steals it at the End
BEER CITY- The Beer City Tourists built an 8-0 lead on the Winston-Salem Dash but were unable to hold the advantage late. The Dash scored six runs over the final three innings, including four in the ninth, to sneak past the Tourists 11-10.

John Garcia blasted two Home Runs and plated four as part of a 3-for-5 effort at the plate. Logan Cerny helped build the lead with a 2-for-3 day at the dish that included three runs scored, two walks, and a pair of stolen bases.
The game started to turn when Winston-Salem pushed across three runs in the fourth. That cut the Tourists lead to four at 8-4. Garcia’s second Home Run pushed the advantage back to 10-4, but the Dash plated the contest’s final seven runs. It is the first time Asheville has dropped a game this year when leading after eight innings.
Beer City’s starting pitcher Ethan Pecko stood out in his High-A debut. Pecko pitched three innings, allowed two hits, and struck out four. Luis Baez recorded his 22nd multi-hit game of the season with a 2-for-5 performance.
The Tourists and the Dash will officially open the second half of the season on Friday with the two team’s records reset to 0-0. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm ET.
