(Burlington, IA) - The Burlington Bees (20-28) used another big inning, beating the Peoria Chiefs (19-31), 11-4, on Monday afternoon at Community Field.

Peoria jumped on the board in the second inning, scoring first for the fourth straight game in the series. Ryan McCarvel kicked off the inning with a double to left. J.R. Davis shot a single to right, putting runners at the corners. Vince Jackson drove in the first run of the game, driving in McCarvel with a sacrifice fly, giving the Chiefs a 1-0 lead. Peoria added two more runs in the top of the third inning, on a run-scoring double by Brian O'Keefe and a RBI single from McCarvel, extending the lead to 3-0. 
A day after producing a seven-run inning, the Bees put eight on the board in the third inning on Monday. Jahmai Jones started the inning with a single and moved to third on a Jack Kruger double. Jordan Zimmerman put the Bees on the board with a single, scoring Jones. RBI singles by John Schuknecht and Brennan Morgan, tied the game at three. With the bases loaded and two outs, Angel Almao doubled in three runs, giving the Bees a 6-3 lead. Almao later scored on a wild pitch and Jones doubled in Juan Moreno, capping off the eight-run inning.
After Andrew Young homered in the fifth, the Bees added three insurance runs in the seventh thanks to a two-run double by Jeyson Sanchez and a Juran Moreno RBI single as the Bees went on to win, 11-4.
Bees' starting pitcher, Andrew Vinson (3-5) earned the win while John Kilichowski (0-5) was charged with the loss for Peoria. The Bees now hit the road for a three game series at Kane County starting Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. Travis Herrin makes the start for the Bees against Emilio Vargas for the Cougars. 
NOTES: Jahmai Jones leads the team with 13 multi-hit games this season. Angel Almao entered Sunday with no RBIs but had six in the last two games. The Bees tied a season high with 15 hits, matching a total from a Bees' 9-1 win at Wisconsin on April 12th. Eight runs in one inning is a season high for the Bees, passing the mark set yesterday of seven. The Bees have now won a season best, three series in a row.
