GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers had a lot of base runners early, but couldn't get a big hit on Saturday night against the Beloit Snappers at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. The Snappers received two key hits in the contest and pulled away for a 5-2 win over the home team.
Beloit (23-37) took advantage of a bout of wildness from Wisconsin starting pitcher Reese Olson in the third inning to take the lead. Olson walked three to load the bases. Max Schuemann drove in the first run of the game with a ground out. Anthony Churlin made the score 3-0 when he ripped a double down the line in left.

Wisconsin (29-32) got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth. Chad McClanahan drew a walk with one out. Gabriel Garc
ía followed with a towering fly ball to left that stayed fair for a two-run home run. The home run was the fifth of the season for García and it pulled Wisconsin to within a run.

The Rattlers had several free base runners in the early stages of the game as Beloit starting pitcher Bryce Conley walked six and hit one batter in the first five innings, but he limited Wisconsin to two runs on two hits.

Garc
ía drew a lead-off walk from Snappers reliever Richard Guasch to start the bottom of the sixth. A sacrifice bunt moved him to second and he advanced to third on a wild pitch. But, Guasch stranded García at third and the Rattlers still trailed by one run.

Ryan Gridley gave Beloit some breathing room when he cracked a two-out, two-run home run and the Snappers were up 5-2.

In the ninth, the Rattlers got the tying run to the plate against Guasch. Korry Howell singled with one out and Antonio Pi
ñero singled with two outs to put runners at the corners. But, Guasch got the final out to close out the game for his first save of the season.

All-Star Adam Hill (5-4, 4.86) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Rattlers on Sunday. Beloit has named Joe DeMers (0-1, 6.59) as their starter. Game time is 1:05pm.
