Biscuits Explode in 15-2 Win Over Smokies
KODAK, TN - The Montgomery Biscuits (7-5) picked up their first win of the series against the Tennessee Smokies (6-5) in dominant fashion, a 15-2 thrashing on Thursday night at Smokies Stadium. Carson Williams took charge right away with a solo shot to left field two batters into the game.

Carson Williams took charge right away with a solo shot to left field two batters into the game. The 20-year-old homered again in the third to make it 2-0. Williams homered in back-to-back at-bats for the first time in his career. He had a pair of two-homer games in 2023 with High-A Bowling Green.
Williams has racked up six multi-hit games, three home runs, and six doubles. The Rays No. 2 prospect leads the Southern League with a .442 batting average and is currently on an eight-game hitting streak.
Montgomery broke the game open with an eight-run fourth inning, their biggest inning through the first 12 games. 12 hitters came to the plate, and Tanner Murray highlighted the inning with a two-run double that was his third hit of the night. Nick Schnell increased his hitting streak to seven games with an RBI single in the inning.
In his third start of the season, Brendan McKay tossed four shutout innings. The 28-year-old threw an efficient 43 pitches with 32 strikes.
Kenny Piper blasted his second home run of the season in the seventh, a three-run shot over the left-field scoreboard to make it 15-2. Piper finished 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, and four RBI.
