CORPUS CHRISTI - For the second time in as many Double-A assignments, Jake Bloss delivered six innings of two-hit scoreless baseball, helping the Hooks to a 2-0 victory over Amarillo before 3,708 fans Friday night at Whataburger Field.

Bloss, Carlos Betancourt, Kasey Ford, and Drew Strotman continued a dominant run of Corpus Christi pitching, as the Hooks have permitted only five runs over the past four games.

Lead-off hitter Tommy Sacco Jr. scored both of CC's markers Friday. Sacco began the first with a base hit into center. After going first to third on a base hit by Pascanel Ferreras, he scored via a sac fly from Collin Price.

Sacco then opened the third by launching a home run into the right-field bullpen.

In penning the Hooks' third consecutive quality start, Bloss yielded just two singles while striking out four. Houston's third-round pick last year out of Georgetown University stands 2-1 with a 1.23 ERA in six starts, striking out 35 with eight walks and 15 hits in 29.1 innings.

Betancourt worked around a two-out single in the seventh. Ford withstood an error in the eighth and Strotman picked up the save by striking out two against a single in the ninth.

Hooks relievers have teamed to blank Amarillo through 12.0 innings over the last four games, striking out 16 with one walk and six hits allowed.
