WILMINGTON, DE - Jordan Fowler gave up one run in seven innings while the BlueClaws rallied late and topped Wilmington 4-1 on Saturday night at Frawley Stadium. Hao-Yu Lee drove in the winning run with an RBI single in the ninth inning to give the BlueClaws three wins in their first five games in Delaware.
Trailing 1-0, the BlueClaws tied the game in the seventh on an RBI single from Rixon Wingrove. The hit gave the first baseman 45 RBIs on the season, second most in the league.
Lee broke a 1-1 tie with an RBI single in the ninth before Jersey Shore added two more runs on a wild pitch to extend their lead to 4-1.
Carlos Francisco earned his fourth save of the year and second in three days with a scoreless ninth inning. Jack Dallas (1-0), who was added to the roster on Monday, picked up his first win in his second appearance with a scoreless eighth inning.
BlueClaws starter Jordan Fowler was excellent. The left-hander from Central Missouri went seven innings and gave up just one run on three hits while striking out five. He matches teammate Matt Osterberg, who threw seven innings on Wednesday, with the longest outing of the season by a BlueClaws pitcher.
Lee had three hits in the win while Wingrove and catcher Arturo De Freitas had two hits apiece for the BlueClaws (32-29).
The teams finish their series at 1:05 pm on Sunday with LHP Rafael Marcano on the mound for Jersey Shore.
