Double-A Portland may not have won in the past three days, but it wasnt for Rafael Devers' lack of trying.
The top Red Sox top prospect homered in his third straight multi-hit game Friday, but Sea Dogs dropped a 7-4 decision to Binghamton at NYSEG Stadium. He also scored twice in his fourth three-hit game of the season.

After collecting two hits in each of his previous two games, Devers began Friday's contest by belting an 0-2 offering from Ponies starter Mickey Jannis over the advertising boards in right field for a two-run shot in the first inning.

The home run was Devers' ninth of the season and first since May 28.
The 20-year-old third baseman grounded out to first in the third but responded with singles to left in the sixth and ninth to bump his batting average above .300 for the first time since May 23. During the three-game span, Devers has recorded 12 total bases in 13 at-bats, going 7-for-13. He also drove in five of Portland's 13 runs over that stretch while scoring three himself.

The native of the Dominican Republic's previous three-hit games this season came on April 10, April 13 and May 16, with a five-hit, two-homer game on May 2.
As one of the youngest players in Double-A, Devers is hitting .301/.364/.523 in 47 games in his first Eastern League stint.
Mets No. 23 prospect David Thompson and Kevin Kaczmarski both had three hits to pace the Binghamton offense. Jannis (4-1) shook off Devers' homer and picked up the win after allowing three more hits while striking out seven over six innings.
