BOWLING GREEN, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods cruised to an 8-1 victory over the Dayton Dragons to guarantee them at least a series split. This will be the 11th series in a row the Hot Rods have won or split.
The Hot Rods scored first in the bottom of the third inning when 2B Vidal Brujan reached on an error with two outs. He stole second and scored on a single from SS Taylor Walls .
Bowling Green pulled away to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth. LF Moises Gomez led off with a single, which was followed up by an RBI double from C Ronaldo Hernandez and an RBI triple from CF Carl Chester . 1B Devin Davis and Walls each had RBI singles of their own before the side was retired.     
RHP Jhonleider Salinas got the start and threw five scoreless innings allowing just three hits, no walks, and recorded two strikeouts. This was just his second start of the season as he has pitched predominantly out of the bullpen.
The Dragons got their lone run of the game in the top of the sixth inning a RBI single from RF Michael Beltre which scored SS Jose Garcia who led off the inning with a single.
The Hot Rods extended their lead to seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning when 1B Jim Haley hit a leadoff single and scored on an inside the park home run from 2B Vidal Brujan. Walls recorded his fourth hit of the day with a single and scored on a Gomez RBI single.
LHP Hunter Schryver pitched the final three innings of the game and they were three perfect innings. He recorded a career high six strikeouts and picked up the save in the process.
The Hot Rods conclude the home stand tomorrow at 12:05pm against the Dayton Dragons one final time in the first half. The Dragons will be looking to salvage a split and the Hot Rods will be looking to win yet another series. Neither team has announced their starting pitcher for tomorrow game.
