Additionally, RHP Matt Sauer and 1B Eric Wagaman have been promoted to Double-A Somerset, and RHP Blas Castano has been transferred to High-A Hudson Valley.

Boyle posted an 8-4 record and 3.75 ERA for Somerset this season, leading the Patriots pitching staff with 117 strikeouts and a 1.03 WHIP. The Yankees 25th round selection in 2018, Boyle was recently named the Eastern League’s Pitcher of the Month for July where he went 3-0 with a 0.82 ERA in five starts, striking out a league-leading 35 batters in 33.0 innings over that span.
Boyle ends his time in Somerset on a 10-game quality start streak, dating back to June 11. Over that stretch, his 64.1 innings pitched led all minor leaguers, while he ranks among MiLB leaders in ERA (1.68, 2nd) and WHIP (0.84, 4th) during that streak. Pitching at home this season, Boyle posted a 5-0 record and 1.37 ERA over ten starts at TD Bank Ballpark.
Bell departs Somerset second on the team with 14 home runs and fourth with 40 RBI on the season, hitting .249 with a .779 OPS. His 21 hits and five home runs with runners in scoring position led the Patriots. The power-hitting corner infielder homered in four consecutive games between June 30 and July 3, accomplishing the feat for the second time in his career.
Sauer was the Yankees’ second-round draft pick in 2017, posting a 5-3 record and 3.77 ERA over 18 starts for High-A Hudson Valley this season. Ranked the Yankees No. 30 prospect, Sauer’s 100 strikeouts in 88.1 innings led the Renegades pitching staff.
Wagaman returns to Somerset after spending the first month of the season on the Patriots development list. The 2017 13th round pick by the Yankees hit .233 over 52 games for High-A Hudson Valley this season with 26 RBI and a career-high nine home runs.
