The Braves got on the board first with a run in the first inning on a Drew Lugbauer RBI single. Asheville came back in the fourth inning to take the lead with RBI singles by Vince Fernandez and Joel Diaz for the 2-1 score. Rome re-tied the game shortly after in the fifth on a Bradley Keller (2) solo home run, but Asheville quickly countered with one of their own in the sixth to leave the game at 3-2. Rome began to pull ahead late in the sixth after a throwing error and a Carlos Martínez sacrifice fly scored two to give Rome the lead back 4-3. The Braves weren't finished as three more came across in the seventh on a Cristian Pache two run triple and a Lucas Herbert RBI single to give the Braves the 7-3 lead. The Braves would shut down Asheville the rest of the way in route to the victory by the same score.
Taylor Lewis (2-2) gets the win for Rome in relief while Matt Dennis (6-5) is tagged with the loss for Asheville.
The Braves will hit the road for four in Columbia starting tomorrow before returning home for a three game series against Lexington starting Tuesday.
