Early in Wednesday night's game, it appeared the Ogden Raptors would be swinging hot bats and cruise to victory.
The win came, but it required Ogden's biggest comeback of the season.
The Raptors strung hits together and came up with five runs in the top of the eighth inning to overtake the Helena Brewers, 8-7, and sweep the three-game set at Kindrick Legion Field.
The victory also completed a 6-1 road trip for Ogden between Missoula and Helena, the only loss coming by one run in the finale at Missoula. Ogden completed their season series with the Brewers, having won six of seven.
Trailing, 7-3, in the eighth, Moises Perez hit a line drive single to center field and advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Starling Heredia brought in Perez with a single to right, and Luis Paz followed with a hit of his own. A groundout moved both runners up a base for Hendrik Clementina. The catcher launched a drive to right field that seemed destined for a game-tying home run, but the fierce wind knocked it down. Clementina stopped at second base with two RBI to his credit.
One out later, Tyler Adkison lined into right-center as Clementina crossed the plate to knot the game at 7. Adkison motored around to third base when Brock Carpenter singled. Up came Brayan Morales, who dropped a bunt that the pitcher threw low to first. The first baseman was unable to handle it, and Adkison scored the go-ahead run.
Ogden had gone ahead in the first on a Romer Cuadrado three-run homer, but Helena scored four runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to take the lead.
Conor Costello earned his first win of the 2017 season with two and a third scoreless innings of relief, and Miguel Ureña pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his second save.
