MLB Pipeline’s No. 45 overall prospect led off the sixth inning with a double to left-center and scored when Joey Wiemer was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The 21-year-old is batting .444 through his first five Fall League games with five balls hit over 100 mph in three games at Salt River Fields -- the only AFL stadium where Statcast data is available. Spencer Torkelson (MLB No. 4) worked a trio of walks and scored for the Rafters. Milwaukee’s No. 13 prospect Mario Feliciano laced a game-tying RBI double in the eighth before scampering home on a sacrifice fly for the go-ahead run. No. 14 Twins prospect Matt Wallner continued his power display with his second long ball in as many games. The 23-year-old added a pair of knocks and finished with two RBIs for the Scorpions. After playing 28 games in the Australian Baseball League in 2019-20 with the Adelaide Giants, O’Hoppe climbed three levels of the Minor Leagues in 2021. Nick Gonzales (MLB No. 62) doubled and scored, while Philadelphia's Bryson Stott (MLB No. 97) reached base three times after notching a hit and a pair of walks. Sixth-ranked Yankees prospect Austin Wells led all players with a four-knock game. The 22-year-old finished a homer shy of a cycle as he doubled twice, tripled and drove in four runs for the Saguaros. Texas’ Justin Foscue (MLB No. 83) connected on his first dinger of the Fall League -- a solo blast in the sixth. More »

Jose Rodriguez provided the grand finale on the scoring for the Desert Dogs with a monster grand slam in the eighth. The ninth-ranked White Sox prospect launched the towering homer to left-center that all but sealed the victory. The 20-year-old played his way through three levels of Chicago’s system this year, posting a combined .301/.338/.469 slash line with 14 total long balls. A trio of Cardinals prospects did the damage for the Desert Dogs early on as Nolan Gorman (MLB No. 24) collected a pair of hits, walked twice, scored twice and stole his first two bases of the AFL, while Lars Nootbaar continued to flex with his third dinger of the campaign. Juan Yepez (No. 27) drove in two with a double in the first, adding two walks and a run scored. Left-hander Zack Thompson (No. 8) worked around a hit and three walks to provide two scoreless frames of relief with five strikeouts. Miami’s catching prospect Will Banfield broke up the shutout with an RBI single in the ninth. It was the 21-year-old’s second knock of the game for the Solar Sox. More »
