HELENA, MT - The Helena Brewers are excited to announce that Garrett Greene has been promoted to Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations. Greene, who has been involved in every broadcast this season, will be replacing Craig Durham as the team's sole play-by-play voice following the team's seven game road trip July 12-19 in Idaho Falls and Ogden. Durham's last game with the team will be July 19.
Greene, a native of the Dallas, TX area, is in his first season with the Brewers after spending last summer with the Saint Paul Saints of the American Association. He has experience covering baseball, basketball, football and soccer in the Austin, TX market. "Working with Craig has been a privilege, and while I'm sad to be losing my broadcast partner, I'm excited to bring Helena Brewers baseball to fans in Helena and around the country," said Greene. "I plan on continuing the excellent standard set by Craig and delivering an informative and entertaining broadcast every night."
Durham, a native of Boston, MA, will be covering two baseball tournaments during the second half of the summer - including the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup - that run in direct conflict with the Brewers schedule.
"As my friend Travis Hawks always says: 'life happens'. In this case, opportunities have arisen that allow me to continue to grow as a broadcaster in a new and exciting setting. These two summers in Helena were among the best of my life, both personally and professionally, and I will always be grateful to Paul and Travis for bringing me out to the Capital City. To the best fans in the Pioneer League, thank you for your loyalty and support, and enjoy the rest of the season - I have a very good feeling that this year will bring playoff baseball back to Kindrick Legion Field!"
"We are fortunate to have a great broadcaster in Garrett to continue to provide our fans with first rate coverage of the Brewers this season," said Helena Brewers GM Paul Fetz. "It has been a pleasure getting to know Craig and working with him over the past two seasons, and we wish him all the best moving forward."
The Brewers return home on Thursday, July 20 to host the Idaho Falls Chukars for a 7:05 first pitch. In addition to being Thirsty Thursday - with $2 draft beers and fountain sodas - the July 20 game will be a part of Star Wars Night, where fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite Star Wars character to receive discounted tickets.
All games, home and away, can be heard live on 95.9/950 KCAP in Helena, online at helenabrewers.net and on the MiLB & TuneIn Radio mobile apps.
