Over the past week, Capel batted .444 in seven games. The 20-year old outfielder from Katy, TX went 12-for-27 with one double, one triple, one home run and eight runs batted in. Capel also scored six runs, and stole one base.
Capel was particularly dominant in the Captains' series against the Lansing Lugnuts. In the four-game series from Thursday to Sunday, Capel went 10-for-18 at the plate (.555 AVG). Capel's homer, double, triple and eight RBI all came against Lansing, as did five of his runs scored and his one stolen base.
Capel is among the Captains' team leaders in several offensive categories. He ranks first in triples (6), runs (59) and walks (38). Capel is also second on the club in home runs (19), doubles (18), and stolen bases (13). In addition, he leads all qualified Captains in OPS (.790) and slugging percentage (.475). Capel was the Indians' 5th round pick in the 2016 MLB Draft.
