The Captains had four hits in the first inning, all singles, and used two hit-batters to spark the rally.

Brandon Little (4-11) didn't survive the first inning. Little took the loss, and allowed four earned runs on four hits with two hit batters and one walk. The South Bend bullpen used three pitchers and twirled eight and one third innings in scoreless release.
